Anglo Chilean Society Hosts Exclusive Wine Tasting with Francesca Bridgewater and Special Guests
London, 7th May 2025 — The Anglo Chilean Society held an exclusive and memorable wine tasting evening on Wednesday, 30th April at St Peter’s Church in Eaton Square, SW1. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Chilean Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ximena Fuentes Torrijo, highlighting the deep cultural and diplomatic ties between Chile and the UK.
Led by Francesca Bridgewater FCIM, an internationally recognised wine writer, broadcaster, and Consultant Flying Sommelière, the event offered guests an immersive journey through Chile’s ancestral grape varieties and award-winning wines. Francesca, who also serves as European Editor for Andes Wines, brought over two decades of global wine expertise to the evening, guiding attendees through Chile’s unique terroirs and lesser-known varietals.
The curated tasting featured rare ancestral grapes such as País, Carignan, and other expressions that reflect Chile’s viticultural diversity and innovation. Guests enjoyed not only the nuanced flavours of these exceptional wines but also insightful commentary on their origins, craftsmanship, and the rising stars of Chile’s wine scene.
In a warm and convivial atmosphere, guests—including wine enthusiasts, and supporters of the Anglo Chilean Society—sipped, savoured, and connected over a shared appreciation of Chilean culture. Complementary nibbles further enhanced the tasting experience, making for a well-rounded and unforgettable evening.
The Anglo Chilean Society continues its mission of fostering cultural exchange and friendship between the UK and Chile through events such as this, celebrating the best of Chilean tradition, innovation, and hospitality.
